Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando Lake Mary

Everything was great, but breakfast was bad. They only had oranges for fruit. They didn’t have any non dairy milk choices. The AC was really loud. It startled me every time it came on. The patio is pretty much used as a smoking lounge by guests which sucks for non smokers. With that said, I would still comeback for the nice desk staff and the nice rooms.

I am beginning to lose confidence in the Marriott Elite program, as the benefits do not seem to work as they are advertised. One of the key reasons for maintaining Elite status is the possibility of room upgrades; however, during my recent stay I attempted to request an upgrade several times and the hotel declined each request. As a result, the rewards program did not function in the way it was designed or promoted. During check-in, the receptionist also seemed unfamiliar with how to properly acknowledge Elite membership or explain the benefits associated with the status. I even reached out to the Ambassador Elite service for assistance, but unfortunately they were not able to help resolve the situation. I understand that guest surveys can directly affect hotel staff, and I did not want to negatively impact the employees personally. For that reason, I still provided a five-star rating, even though my overall experience did not meet the expectations typically associated with Marriott Elite membership. I hope Marriott will review how the program is implemented so that loyal members can truly receive the benefits promised.

Out of the five or so hotels I’ve stayed at in the Lake Mary/Sanford area, this is easily the best of the bunch. It is leaps and bounds better than the Marriott right next door, which had serious mold issues—this Residence Inn, by contrast, is clean and well-maintained. The Highlights The Room: I stayed in a King Suite, and it was impressively spacious and quiet. The A/C was extremely quiet, which is rare and made for a great night's sleep. The in-room amenities are lovely, and the entire property feels fresh and clean. Staff & Breakfast: The staff is consistently friendly, and the breakfast spread is actually good—definitely a step above the standard hotel fare. Parking: Free, plentiful parking that is located very close to the building is a huge plus. The Drawbacks The Couch: While the room is great, the couch is easily one of the most uncomfortable things possible. It’s fine to look at, but not to sit on. Confusing Signage: The door hanger for housekeeping is unnecessarily complicated. One side says "I'm all set" with confusing subtext, and the other says "Later please." I put out the "Later please" sign, but I guess "later" means "never" because service never happened. It should be simple: "Service Please" on one side and "Do Not Disturb" on the other. Check-out Process: While the stay was great, the check-out wasn't straightforward. I stood at the desk for a couple of minutes before being told I could just leave. A little more communication on the "express" nature of checking out would be helpful. Final Verdict: This is my new go-to for the area. Despite the confusing door signs and the stiff couch, the cleanliness and quiet atmosphere make it the top choice in Lake Mary.

Pros: Well-managed hotel (Elizabeth Jackson, Assistant Manager) who addresses any issue promptly and with care. Very pleasant front desk staff lady (name forgotten but her daughter studies at Harvard U.). Quiet area, plenty of parking (free) and places around to get food or gas. Very spacious room with well-equipped kitchen. Windows can be slightly opened (great for morning or evening fresh air), easy access to Orlando downtown or parks nearby Cons: Tourism daily small fee, away from the city (but can be an advantage (quietness, less traffic)

Rooms were clean and service was nice . No a lot of options for breakfast. The pool was so cold so the hot tub was a nice option. Has laundry room and gym .

Stayed here for a week, and we were very impressed by how nice and clean the hotel was. The rooms are really nice and having a kitchen is a major plus! The whole time we were there you couldn’t hear anyone on either side of our room, and the water when taking a shower was great, no issues at all. The breakfast was great, with many options for everyone to eat and drink. The hotel staff were great as well, very nice and we enjoyed it enough we stayed three additional nights. The location is in a great spot, and it’s in a safe area close to corporate offices, restaurants, and a grocery store. When we come back this is where we’ll stay again! We’ve stayed in several high end branded hotels and this hotel really surprised us by how quiet, comfortable, clean, safe, and nice the staff was. Before we travel again I’m getting a Marriott card to use for our travel.

The hotel is wonderful. It’s clean, in a good area, and the rooms are spacious. I did have 2 issues though. When checking in, I had 2 reservations, 1 for 1 night and another for 3 nights. I told the girl when I checked in that I had 2 reservations and that I did not want to change rooms. She said no problem, I completely understand. I wouldn’t want to change rooms either. So what happens? We have to change rooms the next day. I was so mad because we unpacked. If I had known we were going to have to change rooms, I wouldn’t have unpacked. Then the room they assigned us to, room 516, every time the AC came on, it sounded like a freight train coming thru the room. Thankfully the weather was cool and I could turn the ac up so it didn’t turn on because it would wake us up at night it was SO LOUD. The only reason I didn’t complain was because I didn’t want to change rooms AGAIN. My advice—beware of room 516. The bed is hard and the ac is LOUD. You will not sleep.

We had a wonderful stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando Lake Mary. The lady who checked us in was amazing as she was warm, welcoming, and took the time to suggest nearby places to visit. Since it was the holiday season, she even gave our kids welcome goodie bags! The rooms were clean and comfortable and while they offer free breakfast, the hotel is also conveniently located close to restaurants and dining options. We stayed here while driving around to see different places in and around Orlando and it worked out perfectly.
